Our Furniture Restoration Process
The hand stripping Flow-Over process is proven to be the safest and cleanest practice for stripping. Using our Col-Met Crossdraft Paint Booth for our stripping needs, we return each piece to its prior state before the rebuilding process.
If the furniture is damaged, we will custom repair the piece to ensure a like-new condition after our restoration process.
Once we have the piece stripped and neutralized each section will need to be sanded. Sanding between coats using different grades of surface grit is important for enhancing the bond of non-penetrating finishes.
With our color matching process, it is rarely one color out of a can. In many cases, we would use a wood conditioner to stabilize the grain, followed by a base tone wiping stain. A spray toning or glazing overtop of clear sealers is sometimes necessary to enhance or deaden the base tones.
